We are a team of vets, vet nurses and admin staff dedicated to animal welfare. Nursing staff

All of us have dogs and cats of our own and have been close to animals all our lives. 

Aine MacNeela, our practice manager and owner of 2 dogs, knows nearly all the clients and  patients and has given 25 years of kindness and care to the animals of Galway. She is very ably supported by our team of nurses and administration staff.


VetsThe vets, all Dublin graduates, are Dave Fitzgerald from Galway and Seamus McManus from Tuam who set up the practice in 1976. 

Aidan Miller from Tralee joined in 1995, James Dunne from Galway in 2004, Martin O’Malley from Oranmore in 2010 and Lisa Bradford from Dublin in 2014. 

James and Aidan have done further study; James is a RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) Certificate holder in Surgery and Aidan is a RCVS Certificate holder in Internal Medicine. 

Wesley Power from Limerick who has a RCVS Certificate in Dermatology and Natasha Mitchell also from Limerick with a RCVS Diploma in Ophthalmology, hold clinics once a month in Ark Vets Knocknacarra.

Starting in December 2014 , we will have a visiting oncologist to help with cancer cases.

Our Clinics are conveniently located and fitted out to the best standards enabling us to offer the best care for your pet. More importantly our team of vets, nurses and administration staff are very experienced and well trained. Ark Vets offer the service of vets with specialised training in General Surgery and Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Ophthalmology. See Referrals section for further information.
