Ark Vets are delighted to accept veterinary students to see practice in one of the clinics. To get the most benefit, it would be better to have 2 years of your course done but that is not a requirement. Seeing the general handling of animals and their care by the team can be very well worthwhile for a young vet student even if you haven’t done much on the clinical side.

Ark Vets St Mary’s Rd deals with 1st opinion work in the main. Seamus McManus works there and Martin O Malley works two and a half days there; the rest of his week is spent in Oranvets. Ark Vets Knocknacarra deals with 1st and 2nd opinion work. James Dunne’s caseload is Orthopaedics mainly and Aidan Miller deals more with the medical and soft tissue surgical cases. If you’d like to book a period of seeing practice, please ring Ark Vets St Mary’s Rd at 091-584185 or Ark Vets Knocknacarra at 091-510131

We welcome 2nd Level Students who have done the Group Cert to see work experience. Candidates must be over 16 and be insured through their school. Please ring 1 of the clinics (see above paragraph) to book a suitable time.
